I never really thought about what my sisterlocks looked like from behind until I saw the photo below. It is kind of amazing... I never realized how brown my hair seemed in the light and I am now considering darkening it with Henna.

Last week, in preparation for a job interview, I went to a consultant and had my sisterlocks groomed. My locs were extremely thick and fuzzy at the ends and slim and neat at the root. After taking a week and a half to re-tighten my own sisterlocks, I went in for some additional maintenance. She went up the length of the locs with some scissors and rid me of a great deal of extra fuzziness.

I definetely noticed a big difference. My locs looked much more streamlined and presentable after. I let my hair go a bit after the addition of our newest child a few weeks ago. Now, I look professional and ready to impress and network.

If I contiune on this path I will do irreversible damage to my locs. I love natural hair and it needs as much love and care as straightened hair.

I did go and see a consultant last week who created a few new locks in the front perimeter of my hair because much of my hair had either unraveled or just re-grown some locs that I lost earlier from tension. I will be going to a consultant next week to shape up and trim my hair in preparation for some conservative business meetings I have coming up.

For my lack luster hair, I did a baking soda wash and apple cider vinegar rinse. Both treatments worked out well, especially after adding a little unrefined coconut oil from Whole Foods.
