Battling a Bald Spot

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

My sabbatical from Sisterlocked was due to a number of reasons inclusive of a mystery hair issue. I have a bald spot that I can not pin point the cause of. It maybe diet, it maybe care or build up. But I will follow-up soon.
It seems that my use of the word soon, in the past, has been less its Webster definition. I will soon announce giveaway winners.

Welcome back. I missed your blog. I am 9 months sisterlocked and your blog not only encouraged me to lock it up but gives great tips and suggestions.

I am glad to see you are back. I got locked 6 months ago and your blog has been a source of support and resources. I hope all is well!

The pic of your bald spot looks familar. It looks like alopecia. I've had it a few times. It's usually bought on by stress. You can go to the dermotologist and get steroid injections or be patient and allow it to grow back on its own.

I recently saw a youtube vid were a sister who is a locktician is having the same issue but her's was worse. She had amazing length since she had been locking for over 4 years. It was a mystery to her as well why her hair was balding at the top. I asked my locktician about that issue after I saw the vid and she said it is because of retightening the lock to tight on hair that is to weighty in length or she could have a sensitive crown. She said sometimes it best not to retighten the crown so tight.
