How To Havana Marley Twist Tutorial
How To Havana Marley Twist Tutorial
Oh snapsies, now that I know how to do this. I am hooking up my sister's fro NEXT WEEK!
My hair is naturally a brown and black stripped weirdness that I love and sometimes hate. Right now I'm craving a uniform dark black rich mop of hair again. So, I plan to color with nutratint again this weekend. Wish me luck!
Oh FYI, I have one lock in the very front corner of my hairline that has been going grey for years, I was thinking of embracing my natural Rogue (from Marvel's X-men) and discontinue coloring it. What do you think?

Tonight after buying some repair needles, I tried my hand at reattaching my locs. One was successful and the other was not. I will do a full post when I get a consistent result. Good thing I collected the locs that detached over the past year. Plenty of practice material.

Hair re-growth is happening! I am still washing with Baking Soda and ACV though in this video my hair is dull because I was overdue.
September 2013 hair update.
Meet Leah, she is my favorite loc'd friend on Instagram! I'm over the moon with joy because she agreed to share her hair narrative with you lovely folks! Prepare for the EPIC hair envy, you were forewarned!
Favorite Foods
Hair Routine/Favorite Products
Currently, I'm using Pantene ProV moisture shampoo and conditioner, which is what I used before I was locked. Since my hair is locked, I decided to use a shampoo that made my hair feel clean, moist and smell nice. As far as what I put on my hair, from time to time, I apply an apple cider vinegar rinse. I also use jojoba oil on my scalp and face. Peppermint oil and Clary Sage are also an important part of my hair regimen, I use them on my edges, because I abused my hair line by consistently wearing braids in high school and college. As an athlete, I played basketball and ran cross country, braids were my best option at the time.
Personal Style
My
style is very eclectic! I'm a physical education teacher, so you'll usually see me in
shorts and a t-shirt, but when I get to dress up, I don't limit myself to a
specific style. If I like it on my body, I buy it.
Favorite Foods
I
wish I could say "grilled salmon on a bed of greens", but that is not
the case. I try to eat healthy, but sometimes my taste buds defeat my
waistline. My favorite foods are BJ's brand pizza and baked salmon
sushi (healthy, right?), I also love Nutty Coconut ice cream from
Baskin Robbins.
Hair Routine/Favorite Products
My
hair routine is very simple, I wash my hair once or twice a week,
depending on how often I make it to the gym. In the beginning, I used
the official sisterlocks line of products because it helps with the locking
process. As soon as my locks were settled, I changed my regimen because
the shampoo was drying my scalp.

Styling
I
usually wear my hair as it falls on most days, with an undefined part on
my left side. My husband and I go out to dinner with friends regularly
and to church most Sundays, so that's when I typically style my hair.

I may never host a kid's birthday party again. Contagious children gave my
sister and husband have a violent stomach bug. Last night my sister
did not make it to the toilet and I sported my disease control mask,
gloves and bleach to wipe vomit from the walls. I have no words for how
insane my day is today and I hope to make it to work in the morning.
I’ve been trying all day to protect my children from the bacteria
lurking in secret crevices of my post toddler birthday party home. And
my sister and husband lay in their beds on opposite sides of our home
providing inescapable serenades of sickly moans.
Today I’ve played every role and more. But to make things better, I decided to run wild in the intense Florida heat of my back yard with the kids. It was a beautiful day and I hope the sun shine somehow protects them from the stomach bug lurking in our home.
